Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Installations
On May 14th, 2009, Ontario’s Legislature passed the
Green Energy Act (GEA) assisting homeowners in embracing
lower energy use and energy generation. One of the
highlights of this legislation is the Ontario Power Authority’s
microFIT (Feed In Tariff) program. The aim of this program
is to encourage the development of micro scale renewable energy
projects by paying homeowners a fixed price for the energy
they produce at an amount that will cover the cost of the
project and earn a reasonable return on investment over the
term of the contract. The installation of Solar Photovoltaic
panels qualifies for this program. For more information
